One moment …

Halloween at Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen

October 12, 2016

Autumn is well and truly upon us and long gone are the summer holidays. It’s not all bad news though – Autumn ushers in sunny, crisp mornings and cosy nights. It brings with it the murmurs of Christmas and the magical joy of Halloween! Embrace the atmosphere of Halloween with a themed trip to Copenhagen where you’ll experience the famous Tivoli Gardens dressed up for the occasion!

The Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen go all out for Halloween, as they reopen their doors to welcome revellers! There’s over 20,000 pumpkins, bales of straw, spiders, scarecrows, magical creatures and lots of sinister atmosphere (not too scary, we promise!). Day or night, you will experience thousands of lights and harrowing screams from the roller coaster rides as all the rides are open for the Halloween period. There’s even a music, fire, laser and lights show across Tivoli Lake!! You can join the hunt in the gardens to find the biggest pumpkin, as annually throughout Denmark, enthusiastic pumpkin breeders battle for the title as “Denmark’s biggest giant-pumpkin 2016”. Or you can simply wander among the various Halloween stalls that serve monster-sweets, pumpkin faces or try Danish “Flodeboller”! With over 40 menus to choose from, you won’t even have to leave the Tivoli Gardens to get dinner.

At night Tivoli turns scarier, as the Haunted House opens and the Zombie Dance Show begins. The night of the 29th October, the Monsters Night Out Parade takes over the city; with 200 people dressed up and parading on a route that ends in Tivoli Gardens. Monsters Night Out is a popular event in Copenhagen, and the parade in Tivoli is filled with imaginative and scary costumes. You might end up sitting next to a zombie, a ghost or a vampire on one of the rides. There are many special events held across the Halloween period:

14- 22 October there are daily open air stage shows from 15:00 – 17:00

15 October is the Danish Giant Pumpkin Championships

29 October is Monsters’ Night Out (visitors dress up)

31 October there is a Halloween celebration.

There’s definitely something for everyone at the Tivoli Gardens at Halloween! Whether you want to go as a couple to cosy up over Pumpkin soup, or if you’re looking for a family break in Europe. Email our customer services on inof@activitybreaks.com or check out our package here.
