Madonna di Campiglio Slalom 2nd run - FIS Alpine 2016

December 23, 2015

Last night saw Madonna di Campiglio played host to the Audi FIS Ski Men's World Cup for the 63rd annual 3Tre Night Slalom, a crowd of more than 15,000 spectators packed the streets and hotels of Madonna to get the best view of the piste for the evenings race.

Our very own Hotel Miramonti is lucky enough to back onto the 3Tre run so our guests were really at the heart of the action!

The legendary 3Tre run did not disappoint and spectators were treated to a night of thrilling skiing action and a spectacular drone failure! Austrian skier Marcel Hirscher had a very lucky escape when the drone being used to film the race came crashing down onto the piste, just feet away from Hirscher! A detailed technical analysis will now be carried out to see what caused this epic failure with the drone.

The slalom race had a very strong field of competitors who were ready to battle it out with their legs of steel and courage of lions to take on the piste! But it was 21-year-old, Henrik Kristoffersen from the Norway who really had his position on the podium sorted, from his first run, he went on to clinch 1st Place, with the rest of the field more than a whole second behind his time!

Next stop for the Audi FIS Ski Men's World Cup is Santa Caterina Valfurva, on the 27th of December!

If you have a serious craving for skiing and want to ski the 3Tre run do it this ski season with ActivityBreaks.com and our ski breaks to Madonna di Campiglio!
