NEW: Weekend city breaks in Prague!

March 14, 2016

Do you work 9-5 Monday to Friday? Are you looking a weekend getaway so that you can save up those treasured annual leave days? Then look no further than our short 3 night breaks in the capital of the Czech Republic – Prague!

These three new city breaks went live just last week so you can be forgiven for not checking them out yet! Here at ActivityBreaks we love to give you great reasons to travel – meaning you don’t just book flights and a hotel and then be left to your own devices to wonder what there is to do in the city. So here is our small guide to things to do during your weekend break in Prague.

We offer two basic tour packages for the city, whether you prefer land or sea is up to you! For those land-lovers among us, you’ll be taken on a grand tour of the city by bus. Prague is well-known for its architecture and a must-see tourist attraction is the Astronomical Clock which is now over 600 years old. Still functioning, its unique design is something which has to be seen in person in order to be truly appreciated. Aside from the Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge is well worth seeing – both for the design and for the bustling life that you’ll encounter atop it during the daytime. Like any other city in Europe that’s rich with tourists, you’ll find musicians, sketch artists and vendors that will offer you unique gifts to take back home with you from your weekend break!

Music fans will want to see The John Lennon Well which stands as an expression of freedom from the previous communist regime that ruled the Czech Republic when it was once part of Czechoslovakia. The wall was covered in Beatles lyrics and graffiti but having been stripped twice and now replaced with tourist messages, it’s hard to know whether you’ll find it as interesting these days.

Alternatively, if you enjoy life on the waters, our Prague weekend city break with guided cruise on the Vltava River offers you a great way to enjoy the sights from a unique perspective. Giving you a romantic atmosphere, this could be the perfect option for those travelling as a couple who want something a little bit different than sitting beside each other on a bus! Add on the accommodation in a 4* hotel in the centre of the city, and you’ve got yourself a great city break for couples who love to travel and explore new places together!

Czech beer can be dated back to before the 11th century, so whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just like to enjoy one when on holiday, Prague is definitely worth a visit! Pints of beer in Prague are notoriously cheap compared to the UK at around £1 in some areas of the city. If you’d like to take in some of the brewing history of the city, then why not check out our weekend city break including Staropramen brewery tour and city tour. You’ll also enjoy an included sample of beer at the same location – what a way to get your afternoon in Prague truly underway!
