Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival and transfer to Levoča

Day 2
Head in to the Slovak Paradise National Park along Sucha Bela Gorge. Walk through water, clamber over fallen trees, climb ladders and even pass through a window-like hole in the rock. Lunch at a mountain hut then continue through a second gorge famous for its series of ledges and catwalks above the Hornad river.
6-7 hours walking; 17km covered; 700m ascent

Day 3
Back to the National Park to explore Piecky gorge with its remarkable rock formations. More ladder climbing alongside waterfalls and some horizontal ones over rock pools. Visit a thermal pool in the afternoon to relax and unwind.
6 hours walking; 13km covered; 500m ascent

Day 4
Check out of your guest house. An easier hike today through meadows and forests until you reach Tomasovsky Vyhlad, a rock shelf with incredible views. Hike back to the car for your airport transfer. See essential info above.
4 hours walking; 11km covered; 400m ascent

Levoča is a charming medieval town in eastern Slovakia. Thanks to its well preserved historic centre and town wall it became a UNESCO world heritage site in 2009.

The Slovak Paradise National Park covers around 200km2. The many rivers and streams in the park have carved out gorges, canyons, valleys, caves, and waterfalls over time, and the 300km of hiking trails are often equipped with ladders, chains and bridges for ease of access. Popular routes include Prielom Hornádu and Suchá Belá. There are also several mountain bike trails.

The Dobšinská Ice Cave is a popular attraction in the park, also a UNESCO heritage site it is one of the most important ice caves in the world.
