Whether you're just passing through Paris or in for a longer stay, there is plenty to do!
Paris is divided up into 20 large administrative districts. Beginning at the centre of the city, they curl round in a clockwise direction like a snail shell. To find out which “arrondissement” you are in, look on the street signs.
Sightseeing in Paris is like plunging into ancient history: remains of the old Roman Lutetia, grand medieval abbeys, gothic masterpieces, classical architecture, collections from Napoleonic times.
A remarkable density of artistic and cultural treasures is available in the City of Lights! There are 180 museums and monuments for your enjoyment: discover internationally-renowned collections of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts, go in search of iconic emblems, symbols of the influence of an era, take inspiration from a wealth of contemporary heritage – all this makes Paris a capital of the arts, both past and present.
Paris is the capital city of France and is situated on the banks of the river Seine in north-central France.
You will touch down at one of Paris' major airports, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly or perhaps at Paris-Beauvais, specializing in charter flights. The airports are all within easy reach of the capital.
Travelling around in Paris is child's play. Whether you take the metro, the bus or the RER suburban trains, the whole city and the Ile-de-France region are very well covered and easy to navigate.
