Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at destination – Skradin town
Upon your arrival in Croatia, you will be met and taken to the Skradinski Buk hotel, Skradin. Skradin is a small picturesque town named after the famous waterfall on the river Krka. It is the oldest Croatian settlement with the status of a town and offers an impressive history and beautiful scenery. There will be a welcome meeting and dinner at the hotel in the evening. Settle in and explore the town.

Day 2: Skradin - Prvic Luka
Our first day of sea kayaking takes us from Skradin through the channel to the open sea towards Sibenik and its archipelago. The coastal waters of Sibenik contain an archipelago of numerous islands stretching out over 157km2. In this group of islands, only six have a permanent population that totals less than 7000 people. The first destination we need to reach is the island of Prvic. The first settlers were probably recluses. Later, in the 15th century, it was inhabited by the priests of the Benedictine and the Franciscan order, who built a monastery and later two churches. Over time the population grew; peaking in the early 20th century, when there were around 1300 residents. During the 20th century, the population has steadily declined and at the beginning of this century fell to about two hundred.

Sea kayaking: 5 h; Distance: 25 km

Day 3: Prvic Luka to Zlarin
Zlarin is a small island on the Dalmatian coast near the Croatian town of Sibenik, situated in the Zlarin channel. It covers an area of 8.2 km2 and is located 2.5 nautical miles from Sibenik. Artefacts from the Neolithic period and antiquity have been discovered on the island. The inland part of the island is uninhabited and covered with dense forest. Zlarin is one of the few islands in the Adriatic which does not allow access to cars. In winter the island has a population of 276 people, but over the summer tourism means that the population grows significantly.
3*Hotel Maestral;
Sea kayaking: 4-5 h; Distance: 25 km

Day 4: Prvic Luka-Kapriji-Kakan
We leave Prvic behind and continue our kayaking trip towards Kaprije Island, which is located in the central part of the Sibenik archipelago. The island covers an area of 6.9 km2 with a very indented coastline and lush vegetation. The only village on the island is also called Kaprije, surrounded by hills the highest of which is 129 meters above sea level. The island was named after the Mediterranean caper plant whose buds serve as a spice for traditional Croatian meals. On the south side of Kakan Island you can see stunning examples of traditional stone walls called “suhozid”.
Guest house Kaprije;
Sea kayaking: 4-5 h; Distance: 25 km

Day 5: Zirje island-Kaprije
Zirje Island is the only permanently inhabited offshore island among the islands of Sibenik. It is located opposite the Kornati National Park archipelago and is made mostly of limestone, with a few fertile karst fields. The inhabitants tend to vineyards, olive-groves and orchards, as well as being fishermen. The only large settlement is Zirje. The highest peak is Kapic at 131 m above sea level.
Guest house Kaprije;
Sea kayaking: 5 h; Distance: 25 km

Day 6: Kaprije to Prvic Luka
On our way back to Prvic Island we will follow the outer coastline. There are two settlements: Prvic Luka and Sepurine. Many historic artworks are kept in what used to be the palace of the Draganic-Vrancic family from Sibenik.
3*Hotel Maestral;
Sea kayaking: 4-5 h; Distance: 25 km

Day 7: Prvic Luka to Skradin
On our last sea kayaking day we head back towards Skradin. Upon our arrival in Skradin, depending on time, you can make an optional visit to the Krka River National Park in the afternoon, walking from Skradin to the 44m high Skradinski Buk waterfall. The fantastic karst formations and travertine waterfalls make it a beautiful swimming area. After walking, sightseeing and photos we will take a swimming and picnic break under the waterfall (picnic lunch not included).
3* Hotel Skradinski Buk;
Sea kayaking: 4 h; Distance: 25 km
