Zagreb

The capital of Croatia, Zagreb is quickly becoming a tourist hot-spot when travelling to Europe. With sites dating back to the medieval ages, there is plenty of history to explore in the city centre. Those looking for a little bit more of a challenge can try to find the miniature planet statues located around the city, with the Prizemljeno sunce (Grounded Sun) the most obvious to find as all are on a 1:680,000,000 scale! Good luck!

The small size of the city makes it easy for travelers to get around and experience the culture with a huge array of cafes, restaurants and bars. There are also a host of art galleries. Trams run through most of the day so if you don’t want to walk, the blue trams are never too far away and cost only 2€ to use.

Croatia’s climate is continental with very distinct seasons – hot summers and cold winters!

Korana Village

Accommodation is provided by the families of Korana Village, a small romantic place hidden away in a valley by the river in Plitvice Lakes National Park. The houses are small, traditional dwellings with simple, clean and comfortable rooms in an idyllic setting. The peaceful atmosphere makes for an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area
