Budgets in Europe: Bulgaria

As part of our budgets in Europe series we’ve taken it in turns to focus in on different cities and countries to see how they compare against each other on a budget level. This week we look at country of Bulgaria, renowned for beginning ridiculous cheap! Most famous for it’s party resort, Sunny Beach, but Bulgaria also has fantastic skiing opportunities. The currency here is the Bulgarian lev, with the Euro equating to approximately 1.95 BGN.

Bulgaria is really a place to put on the bucket list, and with the airport close to the city centre, it is easy to get to. It’s a real party destination but the city has lots to offer all types of travellers. The ski resorts in the area have something for every ability and they are really lively resorts.
