Its location, 50 km from both Barcelona and Girona, excellent road/rail connections and the possibilities of a varied excursion/leisure activity programme make it the ideal holiday destination.

The beach at Calella is a public beach, popular in the summer months with locals and tourists. It is just over 2km long and its southern stretch is quieter than the central and northern portions. The beach has been consistently awarded the European quality Blue Flag.

The town offers a lively nightlife with a host of great bars and restaurants, and people from all over Catalonia head there at weekends during the summer.

More than just a seaside resort, Calella also offers a rich history and artistic tradition. Places of interest around the town include the church of Santa María, the Casa de los Salvador (14th century), Casa Sivilla (16th century) and the chapel of San Quirze and Santa Julita.
