Champoluc (1,560m) is a picturesque resort nestled in the Aosta Valley in North-western Italy, and part of the large Monterosa ski area which covers the three main resorts of Champoluc, Gressoney-La Trinite and Alagna (in that order west to east) which are all linked, as well as the smaller satellite resorts of Antagnod, Brusson and Gressoney-Saint Jean.

The vast ski area offers 180km of slopes in total - 19 blues, 41 reds and 6 blacks, fed by 38 lifts from 1,212 to 3,275m. Such a large area offers great skiing for all levels, intermediates in particular, while advanced skiers can enjoy some excellent off piste around the Passo dei Salati, the connection between Gressoney and Alagna (heliskiing is popular in the area).

The area is blissfully quiet during the week, and much busier at weekends as locals from nearby Turin and Milan hit the slopes.

Après ski

Off the slopes there is not a great deal going on; Champoluc as the biggest resort in the area is a little more lively compared to Gressoney and Alagna, with a handful of pubs and bars, though again it only really gets busy at the weekends. So if you are looking for quiet slopes, go during the week, if you are looking for fun après ski, go at the weekend!
