Oppdal (550m asl) is the northernmost ski resort in Norway and enjoys a fantastic snow record. Less famous than some of Norway’s other resorts, with fewer crowds, it nevertheless offers 4 linked mountains with 17 lifts and 37 runs over 50km, the highest point is 1300m.

A great area for beginners and lower intermediates with lots of gentle green and blue runs, more adventurous skiers have a handful of red runs and some ungroomed blacks to choose from. There are also 2 terrain parks and some very good backcountry skiing for experienced off-piste skiers.

Alternative activities include a whopping 180 km of cross-country trails, the hotel aquatics centre with 25m pool, waterslide and wellness area, indoor bouldering, bowling, curling, dog sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Après ski
The town offers a number of shops, bars and restaurants, though nightlife is fairly low key during the week.
