Paris is mainland Europe’s most iconic city; historic, romantic and endlessly fascinating, you can discover something new on every visit.

The ‘city of light’ is divided into 20 ‘arrondissements’ which start in the centre and spiral outwards in a clockwise direction. By far the best way to get around and explore the city is on foot, if you are in a hurry or need to get to the other side of the city then take the metro. There is also a city-wide bike rental service known as Vélib which is cheap and available all over the city.

If you plan on seeing lots of sights during your stay, you may like to buy a pass so you can skip the long queues that can form outside Paris’ world famous attractions like the Louvre. Popular passes include the Paris Museum Pass and the Paris Pass, however neither include entry to the Eiffel Tower.

The Stade de France is the French national stadium and the 10th largest in the world. It is located to the north of Paris in Saint-Denis; to get there take the RER suburban train from the Gare du Nord or Châtelet, metro line n. 13 or the n. 1 or n. 8 tram. There are plenty of food kiosks inside the stadium, and if you download the stadium app you can even get food and drink delivered to your seat free of charge!
