Itinerary

Day One:

Arrival and check in, bike fitting and briefing. Dinner at the hotel.

Day Two: Sirmione and Lugana (45km)

Today you will discover the area around the southern shore of the lake, famous for its Lugana wine. Ride alongside the lake past small villages until you reach Sirmione, the pearl of Lake Garda. Take time to explore before heading inland through open fields and vineyards on your way back to the hotel.

Day Three: Garda, Bardolino, Lazise (50km)

Saturday you are in for a treat, with some fantastic views over the lake. Head out through the countryside until you reach the stretch of road that hugs the shore between Lazise and Bardolino. After some time exploring Bardolino, head back to the hotel inland via countryside roads.

Day Four: Custoza and Borghetto sul Minicio (45km)

A day in the countryside, among the cypress trees and vineyards of Custoza. The gentle hills offer a bit more of a challenge, but the views are worth it. Today’s destination is the enchanting village of Borghetto sul Minicio, a real treat often overlooked by visitors to the Lake. Make sure you stop off for a plate of tortellini, a local speciality, before heading back to Peschiera. Dinner at the hotel.

Day Five:

Check out and departure, you can leave the bikes at the hotel.

Extras/Upgrades

E-bikes are available on request at a small supplement, please let us know before you book

Lake Garda has long drawn tourists from all over the world thanks to its idyllic waterside views framed by clear skies and cypress trees, its freshwater beaches and beautiful shoreside towns from Riva in the north to Sirmione in the south.

The breezy northern part of the lake is more Alpine in feel, while to the south you can find gently rolling hills and expanses of vineyards, ideal for exploring by bike.

Peschiera del Garda at the very south of the lake is an ideal base for exploring the area. A popular resort for families (partly due to its vicinity to the Gardaland theme park), it has slightly Venetian feel to it due to its canals and historic fortifications. The old town is a delight to stroll around, with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from.

If you can tear yourself away from the picturesque lakeside panoramas, the countryside offers plenty of attractions. Ride through vineyards and olive groves, stop off at small independent cantinas and agriturismos to try some of the local produce, and explore tiny hamlets that seem to have been frozen in time.

Not a bad way to spend 3 days.

Dolci Colli Bike Hotel***

Located in a peaceful position and with a large outdoor pool, this basic hotel is an ideal base for exploring the area by bike.

A five-minute drive from the town of Peschiera on the lake, there is free parking available and the hotel offers a shuttle to the town and train station twice a day. A taxi costs around € 10.

The standard rooms come with tiled floors, air conditioning, satellite TV, safe and bathroom with bath or shower and hairdryer. Some have balconies.

The restaurant offers a range of local specialties and national dishes and has received very positive reviews.

Nearest Airport: Verona airport, 20km (20 mins by car)

Other airports: Bergamo Orio al Serio, 95 km (1 hour by car), Milan Linate (1 h 20 mins), Venice Marco Polo (1 h 30 mins)

By Car:

From Verona take the A4/E70 towards Peschiera del Garda. Take the exit ‘Peschiera Centro/Mantova/Ponti sul Mincio/Santuario del Frassino’ from SR11. Turn right onto Via Mantova and the hotel is on the left.

By Public Transport:

From Verona airport take the airport bus to Verona Porta Nuova train station (15 mins), from there take a direct train to Peschiera (45 mins). The hotel is around 25 mins walk from the station but there is no pavement so we suggest getting a taxi.
