ITINERARY
Day One:
Arrival in Bad Goisern, check in at hotel where you will receive your activity vouchers.
Day Two:
Self-guided cycling tour of Lake Hallstatt
Approx 30km, height difference 357m.
Cycle along the eastern shore to Obertraun where you can visit the Dachstein Adventure World with its giant ice caves and cable car. The cycle route continues to Hallstatt a picturesque lakeside village and UNESCO World Heritage Site, from where it is just a short ride back to your hotel.
Day Three:
Canoeing on Lake Hallstatt - approx 4h
After a short briefing, head out on to the calm waters of the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Day Four:
Climbing workshop for beginners at a climbing hall in Bad Ischl - approx 4h
A playful introduction to the sport of climbing with a qualified instructor. The large climbing hall here has routes for all abilities.
Day Five:
Self-guided hike to the Goiserhutte
6 km, 4 hours, height difference 1083 m.
A short but steep ascent to the Goiserhutte mountain lodge is well worth the effort. Once there you can explore further if you wish and head to the summit of Mount Kalmberg.
Overnight stay at the Goiserhutte mountain hut. Pack all you need for an overnight stay in your backpack, which you will be carrying.
Day Six:
After a hearty breakfast head back down to the valley. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 7:
Guided tour of the Koppenbrueller Cave- approx 1.5 hours
Take a short walk along the Koppentraun river to the cave entrance. During the tour you will learn about the development of the cave and the underground waterways in the area.

• If you are planning to arrive without a car you can add on the public transport card as an optional extra at the price of € 33 per person for the week. With this card you can easily travel around the area and reach the start point of each activity and the hotel. Please note that this is only valid once you arrive in Bad Goisern and is not valid for airport transfers.

Landhotel Agathawirt*** Stay at this charming family-run establishment located halfway between Bad Goisern and Lake Hallstatt. The hotel has a historic wing that dates back to the 1600s with restored frescoes, renaissance windows, marble doorways, and other historic features, and a modern wing where the rooms are located. The cosy rooms come with satellite TV, and bathroom with bath or shower and hairdryer, most have balconies. The hotel has a small spa area with sauna and steam room, as well as an outdoor pool. The restaurant offers a varied breakfast buffet and traditional Austrian cuisine made with locally sourced produce. Free parking is available, no reservation needed.

Nearest Airport: Salzburg Airport (1hr) Other airports: Vienna Airport (3hrs) By Car Get onto the A1/E55/E60 from Loiger Str. Follow this until Henndorfer Landesstrasse in Thalgau. Exit at 274-Thalgau. Follow Enzersberg Landesstrasse to Wolfgangsee Strasse/B158. Continue until B145 in Bad Goisern. By Public Transport Take bus from Salzburg airport to Salzburg main train station, change bus to Attnang-Pucheim and again a 3rd bus to Bad Goisern - around a 3 hour journey. By Private Transfer Taxi available outside airport. Private transfer available on request after main booking, but we recommend hiring a car for this break.
LOCATION
Bad Goisern is a pretty market town located on the River Traun, close to the northern shore of Lake Hallstatt. Part of the 'Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut Cultural Landscape', the area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserving its distinct character and traditions. A wonderful location for an active holiday, you can take bike rides around the lake, explore the hiking trails and the Koppenbrueller cave, and go canoeing on the lake, as well as visit the charming towns of Halstatt and Bad Ischl and take a dip in the famous thermal waters of the latter. Those looking for more of an adrenaline rush can go rafting, rock climbing and canyoning in the area. Another local attraction is the famous 5 fingers viewing platform at Krippenstein (which can be reached from Obertraun by cable car), views from up here are magnificent, but those with a fear of heights should stay away - each platform has a glass floor!
