Accommodation
La Villa Feleit Villa Feleit offers stylish, comfortable apartments located in a peaceful, panoramic position overlooking Bormio, close to the ski slopes (just 70m from the Stelvio piste!) and just under 1km from the centre of town. Intermediate skiers can ski down a wide red run to the gondola station and ski back at the end of the day, snow conditions permitting. Apartments range from bright, functional studios to spacious one bedroom apartments and one very large two bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. Each apartment comes complete with a fully equipped kitchen with oven and microwave, bathroom with shower and wall mounted hairdryer, flat screen satellite TV, safe and free WIFI access; some have balconies. Free parking is available, as well as a heated ski deposit with a locker for each apartment, which becomes a bike deposit in the summer. If you are staying at Villa Feleit we recommend hiring a car as there are no shops or restaurants nearby.
Bormio (1225m) is a beautiful spa town and mountain resort located in the Alta Valtellina just north east of Lake Como and close to the Swiss border. While it is best known as a ski resort and part of the ski world cup circuit, the town has become a very popular summer destination for cyclists, from road bikers keen to take on the legendary Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo mountain passes often featured in the Giro d’Italia, to mountain bikers who have a wealth of trails to choose from as well as a downhill park. Those looking for gentler more forgiving routes can enjoy the slowly expanding network of cycle paths or alternatively hire a pedal assisted e-bike to take some of the strain out of exploring the mountainside on two wheels! There are three thermal spa centres here – the historic Bagni Vecchi which date back to Ancient Roman times, the Bagni Nuovi 5-star luxury resort and lastly Bormio Terme with its indoor and outdoor swimming pools, waterslide for kids and ‘thermarium’ spa for adults. Hiking opportunities are numerous; highlights include the Forni glacier area above the nearby town of Santa Caterina Valfurva, Lake Cancano and Monte Scala, the Val Viola and the Val Zebru’. The trails are well signposted and can easily be explored independently, though the Stelvio National Park offers twice weekly guided excursions throughout July and August. Those looking for more of a challenge can strap on their crampons and go mountaineering with the local Alpine Guides. Other possible activities include summer skiing on the Stelvio glacier (open May – early November), husky dog sledding on grass in nearby Arnoga, indoor ice skating, a panoramic nine-hole golf course and the famous Bernina Express railway from Tirano to St. Moritz. The historic town centre is a pleasure to explore, with its medieval churches, upmarket shops, café bars and restaurants. Those who are interested in history and the local area can take a guided tour of the town and/or visit the fascinating civic museum.

Really varied short break

August 10, 2026

Really varied short break. Trekking was our favourite day, closely followed by the Bernina railway. Villa Feleit is in a beautiful spot above Bormio, although be aware that the walk back from town is quite steep. We usually drove in for dinner. We’d definitely recommend having a car.

A brilliant introduction to Bormio

July 20, 2026

A brilliant introduction to Bormio. Every day was different and we probably wouldn’t have discovered half of these things if we’d organised the trip ourselves. Our apartment had wonderful views across the valley and was very peaceful. The local dinner was a lovely touch.

This was exactly the kind of holiday we were

June 1, 2026

This was exactly the kind of holiday we were looking for – active without being exhausting. The e-bike day was great fun and the Bernina train journey was spectacular. We also really enjoyed having an afternoon at the thermal baths after the walking day. Bormio is a beautiful little town.
