Aprica (1160m) is located on the Aprica pass in the Northern Italian region of Lombardy, just under two hours’ drive from Milan Bergamo airport. Its location along a mountain pass means that the ski area, all on the same north-facing mountainside, finishes directly behind the resort and consequently most hotels are more or less directly on the slopes or else a short walk away. There is a free ski bus service which does a loop around the resort and all lift stations.

The resort offers 50 km of wide and for the most part fairly easy, slopes (9 blue, 8 red, 3 black) from 1160 to 2310 m. This makes it a great resort for beginners/lower intermediates and families, there are lots of good learner slopes and the resort does wonders for building confidence on the piste.

More advanced skiers will struggle to find anything particularly challenging as even the black runs are not especially steep. Snowboarders and freestyle skiers will enjoy the snowpark.

The resort also offers cross country skiing, ice climbing, snow shoeing, an outdoor ice rink and an public indoor swimming pool.

Après ski

In terms of après ski there is not much going on around the slopes, though there are a few small bars around the resort for pre/post dinner drinks, as well as a handful of restaurants/pizzerias. Aprica is more suited to families and those looking for a quiet resort.

3* Hotel Funivia

Hotel Club Funivia is right next to the Baradello cableway leading to 40 km of ski slopes. It offers rooms with panoramic mountain views, and provides free private parking.

Rooms offer satellite TV and a private bathroom with hairdryer. They come with simple furniture, and most also have a balcony. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby.

The on-site restaurant serves fresh handmade pasta, a vegetarian menu and a variety of desserts. The breakfast buffet includes homemade jams.
